File Under: People You Don’t Want to Start a Feud With

Confession: I follow Lance Amstrong on Twitter.  His “tweets” (in quotes because I recognize the stupidity of Twitter’s lexicon) are hilariously self-aggrandizing and/or self-advertizing.  He adds “-strong” to the end of everyone’s name.  He created a Twitter account to announce the arrival of his newborn son.  He tweets after race stages, saying things like “Had a nap and now getting a massage. Neko Case on the ipod.”  Seriously, his Twitter is one of the best insights into an egomaniac’s inner monologue, but I suppose that’s the entire appeal of Twitter anyway.

Today he writes, “Up reading the paper(s). Yet another poorly researched piece in the WSJ. Did Murdoch know he was buying such C-level journalism?”

I can only assume he’s referring to this article by none other than my friend Reed.  Congrats, Reed, because inciting Armstrong’s ire seems to be one of the clearest signs of “making it” in the journalism industry.

UPDATE: Armstrong is apparently trying to get Reed fired for writing this article.  Maybe he can get back on Lance’s good side by changing his by-line to “Reedstrong.”
